On 21 April, a delegation headed by Consul General of Columbia Luz Helena Echeverry visited Sanda and held talks with the Department of Spanish on their future cooperation. The delegation also included deans of the International Exchange and Communications Office and the Language Training Department of Columbia CEIPA Business School. Vice President Jia Qiaoping and Dean of the Department of Spanish Chen Quan from Sanda University received the guests.
During the meeting, Vice President Jia raised the hope of training international talents of Spanish majors and broadening the horizon of non-language major students. Consul General Luz Helena Echeverry also expressed her hope to cooperate with Sanda in the near future. She introduced that as a beautiful country located in South America, Columbia is making progress in every sector, especially after the settlement of domestic peace agreement. It was further explained that Columbia CEIPA Business School is a well-received private business school, not only providing courses in the medium of Spanish, but also providing courses in English.
After the meeting, Consul General Luz Helena Echeverry exchanged ideas with second-and-third year Spanish majors. She encouraged students to learn Spanish and make contributions for promoting Sino-Latin America friendship. Meanwhile, representatives from CEIPA Business School discussed all kinds of possibilities of cooperation with Department of Spanish. Understanding was deepened and clearer direction of cooperation was set. CEIPA Business School will draft cooperation framework agreement later on, including course plans and forms of exchange, etc.
